Democrats are going to win big in Arizona. How I know

I was honored to lead our delegation at the Democratic National Convention where Arizona Democrats were featured on the mainstage every night.
I grew up in Roll, Ariz. — a small border town in Yuma County that wasn’t often visited by politicians but always felt the deep impacts of our nation’s politics.
When presidents passed tax cuts for the wealthy, those investments never trickled down to Roll. When Democrats passed the Inflation Reduction Act, my tíos and tías let out sighs of relief knowing they could now afford their insulin.
And when Sheriff Joe Arpaio conducted illegal enforcement against the Latino community through Senate Bill 1070, my parents were put squarely in harm’s way.
And so I approach my work as the chairwoman of the Arizona Democratic Party with a personal awareness of just how much each and every decision impacts Arizona’s working families just like the one I grew up in.
Arizona Democrats have been winning major seats across the state because Democrats have focused on the issues our working families care most about — fighting to restore reproductive rights, protecting Arizona’s water future, creating good-paying union jobs, investing in public education, securing our border — you name it.
And the key to our strategy has been running good candidates — people who have been leaders in our community and who know Arizona values — who are willing to work to earn your vote.
AZ GOP chair:Trump will make Arizona great again
A strong agenda and even stronger candidates is what has brought us closer than ever to making big wins that will help rebuild our middle class and make Arizona the strongest state in the union.
With a Democratic majority in the Legislature, we can continue the progress we’ve seen under Gov. Katie Hobbs, Attorney General Kris Mayes and Secretary of State Adrian Fontes.
With Ruben Gallego in the U.S. Senate, Arizona will continue to have a key negotiator at the table like we did during the passage of the CHIPS Act.
When Kirsten Engel, Jonathan Nez and Amish Shah win Congressional Districts 6, 2 and 1, Arizona will have paved the way to the House majority in Congress.
And when we elect Kamala Harris as our next president, Americans everywhere can rest easy knowing their fundamental freedoms are protected and our democracy is strong.
Elections are about choices, and this year the contrast between our options couldn’t be starker.
There’s the Democratic agenda that gives everyone a shot at a better life, and a Republican agenda that further divides us from our neighbors and instills fear.
I am confident we will be successful in November because time after time, Arizonans have chosen to move forward. This time, we will elect Democrats up and down the ballot in every part of our state.
